The Midnight Bell / Sean Dillon, Book 22 – Audiobook Online
The Midnight Bell is the twenty-second book in the Sean Dillon series by Jack Higgins. The story follows the exploits of Sean Dillon, an ex-IRA terrorist turned British government agent, as he and his team work to stop a terrorist plot targeting London. At the beginning of the novel, Dillon is summoned to a top-secret meeting at Downing Street, where he is informed of a potential terrorist attack on the city. The terrorists have obtained a sophisticated biological weapon, and they plan to release it during a high-profile political event in London. Dillon and his team devise a plan to stop the terrorists, but they soon discover that there are traitors within their own government who are working with the terrorists. One of these traitors is Dillon’s old friend and former comrade, Billy Salter, who has turned against the government in order to get revenge on those who have wronged him. As the clock ticks down to the event, Dillon and his team race against time to stop the terrorists and uncover the traitors in their midst. Along the way, they must navigate dangerous situations, including a high-speed boat chase on the Thames and a deadly shootout in a crowded market. In the end, Dillon and his team are able to foil the terrorist plot and bring the traitors to justice. The novel ends with Dillon reflecting on the sacrifices made in the fight against terrorism, and the ongoing need for vigilance and dedication in the face of such threats.

This is one of many books by Sean Dillon, by author Jack Higgins, probably about 15 books in all,
Each and every one is a great read, they got even better when he teamed up with young Billy Salter, uncle of the owner of a pub called The Dark Man, in London by the harbor near River of Thems, they go around killing bad people all for the good of England, A lot of the action revolves around the Dark Man.
Jack Higgins knows how to write a great story. While the template for his books is similar; There’s something comforting about that. The regular players in the cast are all complete characters and I know them very well. Interesting new characters appear from time to time so the books are not the same. A good quick read will keep you waiting for the next edition.
