The Monster Hunter Files (Full Audiobook) by Larry Correia

Monster Hunter International opens its first archive as it tries to expand the horizon of its work by hiring new recruits who could learn from the experienced ones.

One thing the monster hunting squad has always done is to get rid of the monsters whether they were big or small. But this time the novel takes us to the history of this supreme squad, a history that was better hidden. The conspiracies between the Nazis and agent Frank is exposed for the first time as we witness the Old Ones and the gnomes once again roaming our streets.

Larry Correia this time takes the help of Jonathan Maberry, Faith Hunter and Jim Butcher in order to knit the tale in an entire new way. There are certain tags from the old parts like Monster Hunter International and Monster Hunter Alpha which reminds us about those books as well and we are inclined to give them a second glance.

The tales mingles between one another as we move from one mission to the other and though each time we witness the slaying of a monster still the boredom feeling never appears. The flavor of the monsters proves to be the basic strength of each part and no doubt has been the true stroke of writer’s pen.

Oliver Wyman too gets the aid of Bailey Carr and Khristine Hyam that makes the narration more colorful as each one of them has used his or her voice freely without trying to build any harmony.

The accent however still matches well and provides the much needed unity among the narrators. Old suspense is eradicated this time which means there is more drama that the writer wants to present in the later parts.
