I never thought that a tummy tuck would get me so much trouble.

I mean, sure… if you’re talking about a certain anatomical feature of mine that the ladies love. Given my single status and my appreciation for all things curvy and feminine, I can totally see that. But another abdominal dissection is making my life much more difficult than it should be.

My name is Ford Daniels, a partner at the law firm Knight & Payne, and my latest case has helped me get past the finer points of dissecters – i.e. woodpeckers. Specifically the Red Woodpecker. I swear I couldn’t make this up but that’s what the glamorous blonde chained to a tree told me this morning.

Her name is Viveka Jones and she is more than a pretty face. She is witty, charming, and razor sharp. Turns out my client was looking to flatten the Red Woodpecker’s natural habitat in favor of a multi-million dollar subdivision, and the sexy lawyer with legs for days (and days) happened to be a consultant to an animal rights group seeking to halt construction.

My client was furious, but all I could think about was getting Viveka across the table from me. And then on the table below me. Probably leaning against the wall. And after that….

Well, let’s just say when it’s all said and done, I hope the Red Woodpecker isn’t the only warbler that Miss Viveka Jones has noticed.

This is a great sequel to Friction. I love that Ford got his HEA and we got to see more with Leary and Reeve. Vivika is a powerful heroine and she and Ford get along well. this is a standalone, but much more interesting if you’ve read firat friction.

I love this book can’t put it down. Ford Daniels is an attorney and his client Drake Powell is upset that a woman is preventing his project from starting. Viveka Jones is chained to a tree to stop the project because she is protecting the red woodpecker because it is on the endangered species list. Ford saw that Viveka was a very beautiful woman so later that day went looking for her at her office. Ford and Viveka can’t stop seeing each other even though they think they have the same case against each other so they have to keep their relationship a secret.

This was my first Sawyer Bennett experience and it won’t be my last. Great story, it flows very well. The characters are fun and believable! Kirsten Leigh’s soft voice for Viveka because she’s of Swedish descent is so cute!!
