Lauren Blakely’s Private Rehearsal is a revised and updated version of the original, Playing with Her Heart. I loved the original and was excited to get my hands on the new version. Davis is directing a Broadway play and Jill is playing her first lead role. As soon as he saw and heard her, he knew she was perfect for the role. He also knows he will have to struggle with his feelings for her. He can’t get involved with an actress. Never repeat. Jill is excited about the opportunity to be in this play. She’s professional, gorgeous, and incredibly talented. As she and Davis finished their private rehearsal, the line between director/actor and male/female became blurred. There is an undeniable attraction between them that they both strive to fight. But it’s too strong. Can Davis break his rule about dating actresses? Can Jill trust that he’s not just telling her what she wants to hear? I love this story so much! I feel it’s fresh and new and I can’t wait for Lauren fans who’ve never read the original to fall in love with Davis and Jill!
I was so happy to hear the audio track and it was like a new story to me. Sebastian is still great, as always. He always seems to change his voice for every character he tells and he is Davis. And Ava is Jill. Exactly how I envisioned her hearing! The singer is fun, flirty and a sentimental woman. Ava killed it!

This revived audiobook includes great performances by Ava Erickson and Sebastian York and a solid story about a young singer/actress with a tragic dating past and a hot young director who has been heartbroken by an actress and is very upset when it comes to falling in love with anyone. However, their chemistry works wonders as they prepare to open a new musical on stage. The original of this story was great but the refreshed script and new way of performing make this movie a winner.
