The Queen of Attolia: The Queen’s Thief, Book 2 – Audiobook Online
The Queen of Attolia is the second book in the Queen’s Thief series. The story follows the protagonist Eugenides, a skilled thief and new king of Attolia. Gen’s reign is threatened by a neighboring country that is planning to invade Attolia, and also by his own people who are hesitant to accept him as their king.
As Gen embarks on a mission to stop the invasion, he is captured by the queen of Attolia, who is known for her cruelty and harsh punishments. Despite the physical and emotional torture he endures, Gen refuses to betray his country or his people. However, he gradually comes to understand the queen’s motives and begins to develop feelings for her.
Meanwhile, the other characters in the story struggle with their own allegiances and loyalties. Sophos, Gen’s friend and former slave, is thrust into a leadership role he never wanted. Irene, the Queen of Attolia, must navigate the treacherous political waters of her court, where everyone is trying to undermine her ability to rule.
As the threat of invasion looms closer, Gen and his associates conspire to protect their country and expose the traitors within. In the end, the story comes full circle as characters face their inner demons and confront their true allegiances. The Queen of Attolia is a compelling and complex story about loyalty, love, and power, characterized by rich world-building and well-crafted characters.

Recommended to me: “Loved this series so much! The first book was great, but nowhere near as good as the rest. This series defines political intrigue pretty well with all its plots and secrets, puzzles and mysteries. The author has done a great job with the different storytelling styles and the characters are great too. Recommended because you like Shadow and Graceling, Grave.”
This is one of those series that you really should read in order. While each book can and is truly independent, this is a story that unfolds like a flower, petal by petal and you owe it to yourself to let yourself enjoy it the way it deserves. Take Humpty-Dumpty’s advice. Start at the beginning, continue until the end, then stop – and then wish the story had more fun!
