Eleven essential classics in one volume

This volume is the ultimate collection of the best science fiction novels published between 1929 and 1964, featuring 11 great classics. No anthology better captures the birth of science fiction as a field of literature.

Published in 1973 to honor the stories that came before the Nebula Awards, The Science Fiction Hall of Fame introduced tens of thousands of young readers to the wonders of science fiction and is the favorite place of libraries across the country.

I really like this book. Listening to the storylines of authors who produced sci-fi before space flight and the computer age is exciting. Plus the blatant, but acceptable at the time, the racist and human-centered storyline is great. This is a great way to revisit these old stories and enjoy them for what they are and what they try to imply for the future of humanity. I enjoyed this very much.

Definitely read the important parts of old science fiction. I have to admit, I could have finished without “Who goes there”, as it feels unnecessarily complicated and hard to follow, but even so, the premise is good, so I the inability to complain too much. “And then were none” and “Universe” are probably my favorites of the bunch.

Nothing new to say. It is acknowledged by all as one of the greatest SciFi collections out there. Especially appreciated for including John Campbell’s “Who Goes There” – again widely believed to be the Greatest Science Fiction Novel Ever Written and the basis for both film adaptations. main movement “The Thing”.
