Elliott is Ansley’s brother who is married to Mackenzie and I love the Mackenzie brothers. They are mentioned from time to time but this story follows Elliott overcoming his darkness with the help of his first love Julianna. The perfect narrator for these stories, she did a great job!

Who knew PTSD could be so sexy?! Okay, so not really. But let’s imagine Chris Hemsworth as a Scottish soldier in India; arrested and tortured, finally free to pursue health and happiness in Scotland. A beautiful girl whom he loved even at a young age was waiting at the altar.
Great book. Go to a place darker about sex & sensuality than any other book by Ashley. As always, great characters and perfect narration.

This is one of the best books in the series. I like the female lead’s responsible attitude and the way she takes care of and stands by her man, no matter what. Definitely recommend this! Miss Ashley, there must be another story here. This book is amazing… I’m listening to it again because. It’s hot, steamy, and full of love. Good work here.

This should be listed under the Highlands fun series. I love this because it brings more Mackenzies back. It’s another spoiled man that the woman will try to fix; though to protect Juliana, she didn’t know he was so hurt. It has some interesting twists and turns, and the fact that Elliot actually EARN his wealth is also refreshing. (I’ve heard enough books about the regency style where wealth is only for these people, know well enough.) This also brought some Indians into the highlands very refreshingly. All in all, it’s not Jennifer Ashley’s BEST book, but thoroughly enjoyable. I recommend using credit! I will listen to it again. (Some hot romance never hurts!)
