“The Ship of the Dead” is the third and final book in the young adult fantasy series, “Magnus Chase and the Gods Of Asgard,” written by Rick Riordan. In the novel, Magnus Chase and his friends must stop the apocalypse of Norse mythology, Ragnarok, by defeating Loki and preventing the rise of the ship of the dead, Naglfar. Magnus and his companions embark on a dangerous journey to stop Loki, involving battles against giants, undead warriors, and their own personal demons. Along the way, they must learn to trust each other and overcome their flaws and weaknesses. The story is told from Magnus’s point of view, and the narration is laced with humor and pop culture references characteristic of Riordan’s writing. The book deals with themes of sacrifice, friendship, and the importance of family, and includes a diverse cast of characters, including those who identify as LGBTQ+. “The Ship of the Dead” is a thrilling conclusion to the series and provides an epic finale for Magnus and his friends’ journey. With its blend of Norse mythology, humor, and action, the novel is a captivating read for fans of the genre and Riordan’s previous works.

In the third book in Rick Riordan’s epic Norse mythology series, Magnus and his friends sail to the furthest borders of Jotunheim and Niflheim in pursuit of Asgard’s greatest threat. Lifeguards are a must for this wet, wild, and magical adventure.

Honestly, this is possibly one of the best books I’ve read all year, narrated by one of my favorite storytellers. If you love Norse mythology or the Percy Jackson world, please read Magnus Chase. It’s an excellent trilogy with a diverse cast of characters that you can’t help but love. All I can ask for is more. Crouch is a great storyteller who breathes life into these characters and makes the story memorable.

Rick Riordan always impresses with every page! The narrator embodies each character perfectly.

I really like Michael Couch’s voice with this. He captures each character beautifully, including the women. Christopher Guetig did well with the first, but the second was not successful. Michael does the best in that regard. I especially love his Irish accent for Mallory. I assume the guy who did Hammer of Thor has completely forgotten about that. He also voiced Alex very well.
