All the adventure loving fans all around the world cannot resist the temptation of this series, it is loaded with almost everything that and adventure lover demands. Not only this, strong story line proves that Diana Gabaldon is not just exhausting her powers on the time travelling scenes she has motives behind her stories. Revelation of truth and loss of relations along with the feeling of love and hate is aptly described all over.

The fans enjoy the time travelling but this is not something that has kept them bound with the series for so long. There are characters that show marvelous sacrifices in the series and the one of a kind love is also appealing. Joan Mackimmie the new lady in the series takes up as a nun at very beginning of this novel. She joins the religious circle not because she has firm faith on religion but she wants to find a way that can help her.

She hears voices in her head telling her about the fortune of different people and amazingly it proves true as well. She fails to comprehend that whether she has powers of vision or there is really someone who is transferring the messages to her mind with some sort of link or channel.

Again the story is linked to Claire the showstopper of An Echo in the Bone , Voyager  and the rest of the series. Joan finds herself connected to Claire and her visions were messages from Claire that she was receiving all the time. Narration like always is without question because there is no objection on the skill of Davina Porter who can be called as the official narrator of the series now.
