Stephen King along with weaves another tale in collaboration this time as Peter Straub also joins his world of thrill, paranormal activities, and action. “Jack Sawyer” is a new character that they paint together in this opening book of the series. 

The character and the story are surely highlighted by the narration of Frank Muller who goes slowly in order to achieve perfection in his work. The character who is the center of everything is once again a teenager something that we see in Doctor Sleep: A Novel as well when everyone chases the little Abra.  

The novel opens when Jack Sawyer stands empty-handed near the Atlantic, he has lost his father and going to lose his mother soon. This young boy has yet another plan going into his mind, instead of crying he has planned to travel back by entering into another realm in order to change the present. Its time traveling again but the realm is entire of a new kind so Stephen never gives you boredom in his work. 

There always spice in every tale, a unique flavor that the previous one lacks. Each step in this new realm opens new doors of truth and fantasy for the young boy as he not only meets the innocent but faces the monsters as well. Luck goes up and down throughout as Jack becomes more and more desperate for the life of his mother. 

The landscape of this new realm is surely painted well by King, he has never given so much time to landscape before and this time it’s a job well done. Each aspect is given an appropriate time by both of the writers which also show their understanding as well.
