Kristen Painter is a bestselling author known for her paranormal romance and urban fantasy novels. She has written several series, including the Nocturne Falls series, the Crescent City series, and the House of Comarré series. Her books often feature strong female protagonists, supernatural creatures, and elements of mystery and romance.
“The Witch’s Halloween Hero” is likely part of the Nocturne Falls series, which is set in a town where Halloween is celebrated every day. The series follows various supernatural characters as they navigate love, friendship, and magical adventures in this unique town.

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, a town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year. Tourists think it’s all a show: vampires, werewolves, witches, the occasional gargoyle flying in the sky. But the supernatural forces residing in the town know better.
Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.
When a spell is cast on the night of Samhain on witch Corette Williams, her only hope is the man she loves, Bartholomew Stanhill. But time is running out. As the clock ticks toward midnight on Halloween, they inch closer to the moment when magic will erase him from her mind. Could Stanhill become Corette’s Halloween hero?
I’ve loved Kristen Painter’s Nocturne Falls series since the first book, The Vampire Mail-Order Bride, where we meet Delaney and Hugh.
This is Stanhill’s story. Stanhill is Hugh Ellingham’s “rook” (a person who is not fully a vampire but serves a vampire). Stanhill is in love with the witch Corette and the story begins with him coming to pick her up for the annual Black and Orange Festival, Nocturne Falls’ biggest social event of the year. Stanhill is nothing if not prepared for anything. His whole life is about preparation.
What Stanhill is not prepared for is that the spell goes wrong by Corette’s daughters and that could mean he not only loses her physically but also mentally as well as the spell The uncle is designed to erase memories. Stanhill was not prepared for that.
It’s funny, funny and sad at times with the way Stanhill deals with the possible loss of his woman’s love if her daughters can’t reverse the curse.
