I loved this book, it grabbed my attention from the beginning and lasted until the end. I absolutely love Lexi Ryan’s amazing writing style and the interesting storylines and characters she has created. Her characters are complex and well-developed, they are realistic and relatable. I adore the female lead, Nicole aka Nic. she is kind, always looking to do the right thing for others even when it is not in her own best interest, including taking a job meant for her sister. Ethan Jackson is a single father who is no longer interested in love since his wife passed away. HI’s priority is her daughter Lilly. His mother, Kathleen, often watches over Lilly when Ethan, an obstetrician and gynecologist, is called in. Needing to travel, she hired a live-in nanny to watch over Lilly, she asked Lilly to replace her sister, Veronica and said nothing to Ethan, she had her own reasons for this. The night Nicole arrived in town, she went to Jackson’s Brews for a drink. She catches Ethan’s attention and something about her draws her to him. Finally, he takes her back to her hotel, having a few intimate moments before he is called into work. The next day, he gets a big surprise when he meets the new nanny hired to help his daughter. He assumes the worst about her but he tells her she can stay until he finds a replacement. I liked the way things turned out, the book was well plotted, the story had a natural flow with lots of drama, some angst, lots of heartfelt moments and a slow burn to a romance wonderful arrogance. I love their chemistry and also love how Nic treats Lilly. Got to shout out to the girls and the nickname Dr. McBroody, it’s so funny. Great supporting characters and family dynamics, can’t help but love those Jacksons, I’m looking forward to what’s next in this series. Lexi Ryan, thank you for this wonderful story and emotional roller coaster ride. Thank you also for the author’s sincere message.
