I can’t get enough of this book. I drive around at lunchtime, wasting gas just listening. I finished it in a week and it usually takes me a month to finish a book because I only listen to it when I go to work. If you are a suspense/thriller you will love this book.
As always, her characters, plot, and family dynamics are engaging. This book is a bit darker than some of her books, and the main characters are a bit less quirky but still a book I couldn’t put down. I wish I could get all of her books, don’t quite understand the publishing rules that prevent Audible from offering all of her books. The narrator is excellent as always. I find a good storyteller very important and this narrator is amazing. Highly recommended!
The original novel is about a middle-aged woman who seems to be overcoming depression after meeting and having a relationship with a kind, compatible man. Good read, but not exactly mysterious/thrilling. Then came an ominous and terrifying revelation/warning that I didn’t want to stop listening–even at 1am. The conclusion didn’t quite meet my expectations of the threat, but the story certainly kept me engaged.
This is one of the best books I’ve heard in a long time. I bought it because of the good reviews and I’m glad I did. Use your credit for this one… You won’t regret it!
