Review 1: Vermilion Drift – Cork O’Connor Book 10 by Jesse

A chilling story

That explains a lot about Cork O’Connor’s mindset and values. A mystery wrapped in an enigma that ultimately provides a satisfactory conclusion. I think you’ll like this one.

David Chandler is excellent as usual. I’m so used to listening to him narrate CJ Box’s Joe Picket stories that at first i was almost waiting for him to say “yup” as a reply to a question as Joe Pickett often does. But it’s clear Cork O’Connor is not Joe Pickett although they appear to,share many similarities. Would not mind seeing a collaboration where the two team up to solve a mystery together.

Review 2: Vermilion Drift – Cork O’Connor Book 10 by Pronzini/Muller Supreme

I just recently discover this author, but it took just one book to discover one of my all-time favorite writers. I’ve now read almost all his books that are currently published, but unfortunately, they were not read in order. If I could have a do over, I would make sure I read them in order. Not that they don’t make sense, but it is an ongoing story, and if you read a much later work and then an earlier one, you know what has already happened and it’s not as fun. So read them in order if possible.

All his books are well researched, well written, and have well developed plots and characters. I love how he weaves the language of the Ojibwe tribe, along with their traditions into the storyline. I’ve learned something about a group I knew almost nothing about. I’ve enjoyed it so much, I now often greet people with ‘Boozhoo’

I really do love everything about his books and am patiently waiting for the newest to be released in August. Thank you for bringing the O’Connor family into my living room.

Review 3: Vermilion Drift – Cork O’Connor Book 10 by alfoglen

I am not sure why, but I took a flier on William Kent Krueger’s first novel, Iron Lake. I loved it and started reading his entire Cork O’Connor series. I am up to #12 and have loved every one. Each novel has featured character development, action, and suspense in the Minnesota area Krueger is so familiar with. I have his last four O’Connor novels set aside to read. I highly recommend this series. I also read the novels of the likes of Michael Connelly, Dana Stabenow and Lee Child among others, and Krueger takes his rightful place alongside them in my estimation.
