The Swedish Girl By Alex Gray – Audiobook Online
The Swedish Girl is the tenth book in the DSI William Lorimer series written by Alex Gray. The story revolves around Kirsty Wilson, a young woman who refuses to accept that her boyfriend, Gregor, is guilty of a crime. Inspired by her family friend Detective Superintendent Lorimer, Kirsty sets out on a mission to clear Gregor’s name and uncover the truth behind the mysterious events surrounding a woman named Eva.
As the plot unfolds, Detective Superintendent Lorimer becomes involved in the case and calls upon the expertise of trusted psychologist Solly Brightman to help unravel the truth about Eva’s life and death. Lorimer believes that understanding Eva’s background and motivations may hold the key to solving the case and proving Gregor’s innocence.
However, their investigation takes a dark turn when another woman, who bears a striking resemblance to Eva, is brutally murdered. This new development adds complexity to the case and raises questions about whether there is a connection between the two women’s deaths.
Kirsty and Lorimer find themselves delving deeper into Eva’s past, trying to uncover any clues that might lead them to the killer. As they dig deeper, they encounter a web of secrets, lies, and hidden motives that make it increasingly difficult to determine who can be trusted.
Throughout the book, Kirsty remains steadfast in her belief in Gregor’s innocence, even as evidence mounts against him. She becomes determined to find the truth at any cost, putting herself in danger as she gets closer to uncovering the real culprit.
The Swedish Girl is a gripping crime novel that explores themes of trust, loyalty, and the lengths people will go to protect those they care about. With its intricate plot and well-developed characters, Alex Gray keeps readers on the edge of their seats as they try to unravel the truth behind Eva’s life and death while also seeking justice for Gregor.

When Kirsty Wilson rented a room in a luxury Glasgow apartment owned by a Swedish student Eva Magnusson, she couldn’t believe her luck. But Kirsty’s joy turns to horror when she discovers the beautiful Swedish girl lying dead in their home and their male roommate accused of her murder.
Kirsty refuses to accept that he is guilty and, inspired by family friend, Detective Director Lorimer, begins to clear his name. Meanwhile, Lorimer calls on trusted psychologist Solly Brightman to help unravel the truth behind Eva’s mysterious life and death. But not long after, another woman, who bore a striking resemblance to Eva, was brutally murdered.
Terrified, Lorimer realizes that Kirsty might be right. Could it be that Glasgow’s best detective had put the wrong person behind bars? And is there a cold-blooded killer orchestrating the next innocent victim’s death?
I am a big fan of international crime fiction, especially police proceedings. Considering this is the 10th installment in Alex Gray’s Lorimer series, she’s done a great job in continuing her characters while delivering a distinctly different storyline each time it comes out. Lorimer and his wife, Maggie, are once again very interesting and become “old friends”. The same is true of pathologist Rosie and her husband, Solly. This story revolves around a mysterious Swedish girl and her relationship with her roommates and her Father. It’s a rather suspenseful construction, and the reader is as confused as the police as the plot unfolds. There are many twists but no red herring. The newly introduced characters are beautifully drawn and bring the story to a final conclusion. It’s one of those things you want that isn’t over yet! I will definitely be waiting for Gray’s next production and I bet it will continue to be a good contribution to the genre. It is noteworthy that T.
In this gripping book, Alex Gray sends his dynamic Scottish detective from the gritty heart of Glasgow to the snowy streets of Stockholm on his toughest case yet.
As always, Alex Gray keeps you constantly engaged in the story. There is always a turning point that makes you guess a second time. Excellent plot, just a really great listen to Joe Dunlop’s amazing vocals.
I really liked this book. It is very well read and the plot has a lot of twists and turns; it kept my interest till the end.
Liked this book very much. Engaging plot with a twist or two. Joe Dunlop’s narration brought the characters to life which made listening even better.
