Lone Wolf is a romance book in the Shifters Unbound series by author Jennifer Ashley.
Ellison Rowe is a Wolf Changer who has embraced everything in Texas. He’s a total cowboy, complete with a Texas cowhide jacket, cowboy hat, and worn-out cowboy boots. He feels an obligation to take care of his sister, who is recovering from an accident that left her trying to control her wild tendencies.

Enter Maria, a human woman in hiding with the Teleporter, who volunteers to care for the cubs and help Ellison’s sister. Maria is also recovering from a haunted past. She is kidnapped and held hostage by a rogue Shifter and then rejected by her family when she is released. She is alone but is determined to rearrange her life and leave Shiftertown for good.

Someone is trying to kidnap Shifter’s cubs, and Maria and Ellison know they have to stop him. As Maria teams up with Ellison to track down her kidnapper, she finds her heart once again slowly awakening. And Ellison realized that Maria could be the one to bring light into his life. . .

After reading BDB and New Species I was looking for other similar reads. How I came across Jennifer Ashley and Shifters Unbound I don’t recall but I’m so glad I did.

I love this series and the Morrissey Clan, pack, pride (don’t want to leave anyone out) and how several different species of shifters live in Shiftertown together. These are unique stories in the sense the human population is aware of shifters and the government has collared all of them with shock collars which send electrical shocks if they become agitated.

Lone Wolf is Ellison’s and Maria’s story. Maria (a human) was kidnapped by a rogue group of shifters in Mexico and used as a breeding machine. The rogue shifter she was mated to was killed by the Alpha and so was her new born pup.
