Off to Be the Wizard is a science fiction book by author Scott Meyer.
Martin Banks is just an ordinary guy who has made an unusual discovery: he can manipulate reality, thanks to the fact that it is nothing more than a computer program. However, with each use of this ability, Martin found his small “corrections” went unnoticed. Instead of facing prosecution, he instead decided to travel back in time to the Middle Ages and pose as a witch.

What could go wrong?

As an American hacker in the court of King Arthur, Martin must now train to become a full-fledged master of his powers, uncovering the truth behind the ancient sorcerer Merlin… and no, you know. , die or whatever.

Listened to it with my husband on a couple of road trips – unfortunately we had to split it up, it would have been nice if we could have listened to it in a shorter amount of time.

Luke Daniels as the narrator is a master of the singularity. His voice is ALWAYS noticeable, distinguishable, and consistent. His sense of humor comes across as amazing, and I can’t help but wonder if I would enjoy it as much if I just read. His comedic timing is amazing. Will definitely come forward as a favorite storyteller.

All in all, the story is super unique and quirky and made us laugh SO MUCH. It’s so weird. I find it a bit catchy sometimes, so why not rate it higher.

The characters aren’t always super easy to like. They are extremely socially awkward and sometimes that makes them arrogant, ignorant, even silly.

Jimmy is the perfect villain – easy enough to just want to strangle him.

I’ll admit that I’ve fallen for all sorts of red herrings trying to figure out what’s going on and who’s the bad guy.

This was the first of my “Hubby Buddy Reads” series, and since then, we’ve heard a few more and it’s been a hit!
