One to Keep is the third love book in the Nights in Bliss series by Lexi Blake and Sophie Oak.
Stefan Talbot likes order and control. He approaches his life with the same meticulous precision he uses to paint his canvas. Nothing good comes from chaos, and that’s why he refuses to let himself get close to Jennifer Waters. They are like fire and ice. Although she is younger, her talent as an artist is undisputed. But she lives her life as she paints – with wild, frenetic indulgence. It was intoxicating and scary, and he couldn’t get her out of his head.

Jennifer ran from Bliss to put Stef behind her. She went to the mountain town in search of a mentor, but found more than she expected. Cold and aloof, Stef was like a marble statue, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t break his shell. She moved to Dallas to start over, but nothing went as planned.

When the art gallery where she works is robbed and a precious painting stolen, Jen is charged with theft. Jen is delighted to be bailed, until she realizes her savior is Stef, and he sets some conditions. First and foremost, she must return to Bliss.

Against the backdrop of the Winter Festival, Stef and Jen’s charms burn. But the dark forces behind the Dallas robbery followed Jen home. A criminal organization believes she still has the stolen painting and they will kill people to get it.

This book has some funny moments. This is the first book I heard in the series.

Stefan and Jen are not my favorite characters. They’re fine, but the side characters are much more interesting. Alexi, Rachel, Max, Rye, the doctor, Holly, Stella, etc., most of the others are interesting and engaging.

Stefan is bossy, and Jen is blah. Even though she left Stefan, to me she seemed desperate.

Narrative is good. After reading the Masters and Mercenaries series, I recognized the character of Ian Taggart. I have the voice of Ryan West in my head as Ian, so it confuses me a bit, lol.
