Summer At Lake Haven – Free Full Audiobook

Summer At Lake Haven is the 11th literary fiction book in the Haven Point series by author RaeAnne Thayne.
What you don’t want may be exactly what you need.

Ambitious fashion designer Samantha Fremont has taken a break from her love life to focus on herself. She certainly doesn’t have to be complicated, like her new neighbor who turns out to be a charming, brooding English professor. He can be dreamy, but he’s also rude. Keeping his distance from her proves difficult as his two children are wrapped around Sam’s heart. Combined with a pack of cute puppies, Sam may have found what she’s been looking for….

Ian is actually Lord Ian Summerhill, grateful for the opportunity to spend the summer away from his responsibilities in England, studying the unique habitats around Lake Haven. When Ian meets Sam, he’s determined to keep his distance, but soon he’s drawn to her charms and the fact that his children adore her. He was only in Lake Haven during the summer, after which he had to return to England. But sometimes one summer can change all…

Honestly, I recommend reading the novel at the end first, then the longer story at the beginning. Lake Haven Beginning takes place before Summer in Lake Haven. I prefer reading stories in chronological order. Also, the novel at the end sets the stage for the full-length story. In my opinion, if you get this version of Kindle, you don’t need to purchase Lake Haven Beginning separately.

I haven’t read a Haven Point story in a while, but these 2 highlight many of my favorite qualities in one story. There is a moderate pace and a hopeful tone. The plot is character oriented with no steam. The characters are lively and lovable, including children and dogs. You just want them to find their way to a terrible happy ending! I would love to see more of the story of Gemma and Josh, the main characters in the novel. But it’s still a great read.

As always, Raeanne Thayne effortlessly transports the reader to another place. In this case back to Lake Haven. This time the main characters are Samantha and Ian. Both have suffered loss and disappointment and have settled for their smaller lives, never dreaming that true love might be possible. The author is a master at the “slow build”, offering the tantalization of one layer peeling away and then another. I was right there from the get go, spending the last half hour with tissue in hand. What could be more satisfying to the reader than this?
