The Bastard is the story of Mordie, a hero whose moral sense is more flexible than most. It is set in a Camelot that never existed, and is a tale of swords, secrets, magic, revenge, betrayal and even a dragon or two.
I like the premise of this story. Although I feel some extra details have been added a bit, the plot is still moving at a good pace. Expect the world to be expanded in the next novel as Mr. Porters is set in Camelot and the legends surrounding it are fascinating. This is good but I expect the next installments in the series to get better and better.
