But, as it goes, their friendship takes a turn as they enter their senior year, when an unexpected attraction begins to simmer. But as teenagers tend to do, rather than confronting their confusing feelings and voicing their fears, Peggy and Dash get caught up in a messy tumble of chaotic emotions and poor decisions when they look to other people to soothe their heartache and attempt to preserve their friendship.

What an emotional roller coaster this story was at times. I absolutely LOVED Dash. He’s your quintessential rebellious teenager, with his privileged lifestyle and his bad boy tendencies. But the way he goes after what he wants while screwing up royally as he tries to deal with his feelings was both deliciously maddening and completely addictive. Peggy, while I struggled to really connect with her at times, was a character I could appreciate for her originality and her defiance. Together they make for a story full of push and pull, heartbreak and devastation and I definitely liked it a lot.
