It is not easy to take this story and bring it into modern times. It doesn’t always translate, but this author does a great job. She really found a way to have the characters spar with each other and she found a way to bring out both pride and prejudice in both of these characters while still making it relevant. the world today. It was very well done and I plan to read more of her books.

I’m a HUGE P&P fan and have read a lot of alternative novels dedicated to it but this isn’t too much and replaces history as well as ever. Yes, there are aspects to it but it detracts from the craftiness of this book in labeling it as such. It’s a deep and passionate story about family and love but true love isn’t the focus. If you are looking for hot and steamy then this is not your story it is a romantic love story. I love it. The characters are well built and easy to understand. It had some emotional scenes and I was a bit in tears.
