This story is so powerful and heartbreaking. Bullying is still a big problem today and I admire the way it is handled. The relationship between Jessie and Toni is well written. Details of their complicated history were exposed for us to witness. But through that, all the love was there. I am a huge fan of Jade Winters.

To be honest, I read a lot of lesbian novels in my day and a large number of them were great works. I am sad to say that this is not one of those books.

I feel as if the characters are two-dimensional. In my opinion, what makes a good book is the details. The details in the emotion, the details in the moment are trying to describe. There’s not enough of either of those here.

There are details about the characters that I am not interested in, and there is not enough information about the characters that I am trying to learn and understand. Let me rephrase, the information is there, but it’s simple and not as poetic as what I’d expect from a writer. I’m not a writer myself, so I read to be moved by art and this story didn’t move me in the process. There were times when it was on the right track, the first few chapters promising to point me in the opposite direction.
