When did life stop being so simple? It was probably around the time that Casey Frost first agreed to pay off his drug-addicted brother’s debt to save him from being brutally beaten. It quickly became a “thing”. When the dealer – who is also an Alpha shifter – asks her to do something that goes against who she is, Casey decides that’s enough. While she confronts Alpha, he appears – Eli Axton, a ruthless wolf-turner with a dark reputation. When their eyes met and the desire to mate surged, she knew her world was about to change.

As the last unmarried male in her herd, Eli felt tired and alone. Seeing his friends so happy, the head of the execution felt deeply about the absence of his true mate. He wouldn’t have expected to find her in the parking lot of a dueling club or that she was such an unusual type of player. Soon, danger comes upon them from various angles, threatening the life they are trying to build. Their enemies need to be destroyed quickly. But how can you destroy the enemy when you are not sure who they are?

This is a really good story. I like both Eli and Casey and enjoyed their stories. Fair warning, I’ve heard this wraps up the series and has an epilogue at the end that shows off the future well and rounds things off nicely so this seems to be the epilogue.
