The Devil Wears Prada / The Devil Wears Prada, Book 1, Audiobook Online By: Lauren Weisberger
An edgy, witty, and wildly entertaining debut novel, The Devil Wears Prada is The Nanny Diaries set in the world of high fashion. Welcome to the dollhouse, baby.
When Andrea first set foot in Runway’s posh Manhattan office, she knew nothing. She’d never heard of the world’s most fashionable magazine, or its intimidating and flattering editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestly. But she will become Miranda’s assistant, a job for which millions of girls will die. A year later, she absolutely knows too much: That wearing anything less than three inches below a heel to work is a fired offense.
But there’s always a new pair of Manolos for you in your accessory closet. Miranda believes that Hermes scarves are disposable and you should always have a lifetime supply on hand. It’s the fat eight stone. That you can charge your car, get your nails done, whatever it is to your Runway account, but you must never leave your desk or let Miranda’s coffee cool. And at 3 a.m.
Sunday, when your boyfriend dumps you because you always go to work, and your best friend just got arrested, if Miranda calls, you’ll jump. On top of that, Andrea learns that Miranda is a monster that makes Cruella de Ville look like a stuffed bunny. But this is also her big break, and it will be worth it in the end. Right.
As a guy, I don’t care much for the small details of fashion, but I really like how the illustrations and emotional situations are taken care of. However, the narrator is absolutely amazing, I was very interested in the story and how she dramatized and imitated, I finished it in a few days.
I really like this book. It is well told and sounds very interesting, I was quite satisfied with the traffic jam with this book. It’s true that she spent the whole book whining about her boss, but it’s the book, the story of how far a person will go to get what she thinks she wants, and how she gets pulled over. caught up in a highly demanding work ethic. The ending was expected but unexpected, brilliant.
