The Mark By Tim LaHaye & Jerry B. Jenkins – Audiobook Online

The Mark is the eighth book in the popular Left Behind series written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. This series is a work of Christian fiction that explores the events surrounding the end times as described in the Book of Revelation.

In The Mark, the story continues from where it left off in the previous book, The Indwelling. The Antichrist, Nicolae Carpathia, has risen to power and established his one-world government known as the Global Community. Carpathia has deceived many people into believing that he is a savior and has brought peace to the world. However, a small group of believers known as the Tribulation Force sees through his lies and continues to resist his rule.

The main protagonist of the series, Rayford Steele, is an airline pilot who becomes a key member of the Tribulation Force. In this installment, Rayford’s wife, Amanda, has been captured by Carpathia’s forces and is being held captive in New Babylon, the capital city of the Global Community. Rayford and his allies are determined to rescue her and bring her back safely.

Meanwhile, another member of the Tribulation Force, Buck Williams, a journalist turned believer, is on a mission to expose Carpathia’s true nature to the world. He travels to various locations, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses who have seen through Carpathia’s facade. Buck’s investigations lead him to uncover shocking secrets about Carpathia’s plans for global domination and his connection to supernatural forces.

As the story progresses, Carpathia introduces a new technology called “the mark,” which is implanted in people’s foreheads or right hands. This mark serves as a symbol of loyalty to him and grants certain privileges within his regime. However, those who refuse to take the mark face severe consequences, including persecution and death.

The Tribulation Force faces numerous challenges as they navigate through a world under Carpathia’s control. They must rely on their faith, resourcefulness, and the guidance of God to overcome these obstacles and fulfill their mission. Along the way, they encounter other believers who have chosen to resist Carpathia’s rule, forming a network of underground resistance.

The Mark delves into themes of faith, loyalty, and the consequences of choices made during times of great tribulation. It explores the struggle between good and evil, as well as the power of redemption and the hope that comes from trusting in God’s plan.

Overall, The Mark is a gripping installment in the Left Behind series that continues to captivate readers with its blend of biblical prophecy, action-packed storytelling, and thought-provoking themes.

Those left behind after the Rapture must now make an important decision. Each must choose to either receive the mark of the beast, or die. Never has faith in God been more important to a group of believers known as the Tribulation Force, who now face danger from all sides. Courageously, they continued to urge their new followers to accept Christ’s love. Noted biblical authority Tim LaHaye provides outlines for living biblical prophecies in The Mark and other books in the series. Best-selling author Jerry B. Jenkins creates dramatic stories for each fast-paced apocalypse thriller. With a strong performance by award-winning Audie narrator Frank Muller, The Mark has extra dramatic power.

The Leave Behind series topped national bestseller lists, was a special topic in national media and attracted the attention of Hollywood producers. With sales in the tens of millions, the book Left Behind is the best-selling inspirational series of all time.

It’s always jarring when a new reader takes over a series. But Frank Muller is undoubtedly one of the best storytellers of all time. And switching readers in the middle of a series always happens, and any time one gets to hear Muller it’s a joy. The series is still great, thus deserving of 5 stars, but it’s starting to fall behind The Indwelling. Little or no time passes in each book. But this is the midpoint, slightly beyond the midpoint of the Tribulation. Now it takes the mark or is a martyr. And this is a big hit in 2020, even though the document is out of date. If only LaHaye and Jenkins could have known 2020 and what’s coming in store. Great series, and another great entry.

The narrator is completely different from the narrator of popular books, but he grew up in me. I actually think I like him more. Sometimes he’s a bit fast and I have to rewind, but I really like him.
