The Midnight Heir / The Bane Chronicles, Book 4, Audiobook Online By: Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan
In Edwardian London, Magnus Bane discovers old friends and new enemies… including the son of his former teammate Will Herondale. One of ten adventures in The Bane Chronicles.
Magnus thinks he’ll never return to London, but he’s intrigued by a tempting offer from Tatiana Blackthorn, whose plans – involving her beautiful young patron – are even more sinister. far more than Magnus suspected. In London at the turn of the century, Magnus reunites with old friends and meets a surprising young man… James Herondale, sixteen years old.
This stand – alone short story sheds light on the life of enigmatic Magnus Bane, whose charming personality featured prominently on the pages of the New York Times #1 bestselling series The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices. This story in The Bane Chronicles, The Midnight Heir, was written by Cassandra Clare and Sarah Rees Brennan.
I was surprised to see this part co – written by Sarah Rees Brennan, because the first story she was in didn’t make as much of an impression as the ones that followed. The writing in this chronicle is on par with the others, and very similar in style to Clare’s books.
It’s reassuring to see Will, Tessa and Jem again, as well as future characters in the Shadowhunter world.
I like the additional Magnus books, even if they are read quickly. I love that you get to know a little more about this amazing character through all these little stories. I love that Cassandra goes back to visit some of the seemingly rushed storylines in Mortal Instruments – these little stories about Magnus help me better understand him and his role in MANY lives I now need to go back and read the series again – AMAZING for my part I KNOW.
