This is a well-executed and well-written book about the history of DaVinci and one of his much-loved portraits. As well as WWII’s the Monument’s Men some of which are becoming more widely known. The story is also woven through the eyes of a young woman trying to protect and survive the only way she can in a world that has gone mad during war ravaging Germany and Poland.

Laura Morelli has done a great job weaving history through a famous portrait and making the reader/listener feel the emotions of each of her characters. A great read for anyone interested in reading a great story!
