The Phoenix Transformed / Enduring Flame, Book 3 – Audiobook Online
‘The Phoenix Transformed’ continues the story of Tiercel and Harrier, who are now fully trained mages and are working to stop the evil mage Ancaladar from destroying the world. With the help of their allies, including the phoenix, Kithra, and the dragon, Keselo, the two young mages embark on a dangerous quest to find the one weapon that can stop Ancaladar: the titular Phoenix. As they travel through strange and exotic lands, Tiercel and Harrier encounter a range of obstacles and challenges, including fierce battles against the forces of darkness. But as they draw closer to their goal, they begin to uncover the truth behind Ancaladar’s power and the dark secrets that threaten to upend the entire world. ‘The Phoenix Transformed’ is a fitting conclusion to the ‘Enduring Flame’ trilogy, with its action-packed adventure, strong character development, and intricate world-building. Mallory and Lackey’s writing is engaging and builds on the events and themes of the previous two novels, giving readers a satisfying and captivating read.
The Phoenix Transformed / Enduring Flame, Book 3, Audiobook Online By: James Mallory, Mercedes Lackey
In the Enduring Flame Trilogy, Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory give audiences a new look at the complex and intriguing world they originally created for the Obsidian Trilogy.
A thousand years ahead of time, Lackey and Mallory tell the compelling story of Harrier Gilllain, the first Knight – Mage in a thousand years; Tiercel Rolfort, the first Sorcerer Supreme in hundreds of years; and Shaiara, the young leader of a desert tribe, who protects both boys but has special feelings for Harrier.
These three young people are the main defense of their world against evil summoned by the rogue Wild Mage Bisochim. Bisochim’s belief that he was restoring balance was broken the moment Ahairan took his first breath. Now, in The Phoenix Transformed, Bisochim joins forces with Harrier and Tiercel, and three wizards desperately seek to destroy Ahairan as she sends her magical forces against them and the desert nomads under their protection.
I recently finished listening to Transfiguration Phoenix, the third book in the Eternal Flame series. The book is in an unfamiliar place somewhere between the older YA (late teens) and the adults. It’s a pretty standard fantasy movie and only the depth of the characters makes it interesting. The story finally has a solid result in this final novel in the trilogy and has a worthy outcome. The narrator in general did a great job too. Conclusion: I’m not sure who this book is aimed at. I could recommend it for an older YA fantasy novel, however, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else unless they are already a fan of this particular series.
Although this makes it harder for me to enjoy, the first two seasons are well worth the ending for me. The sense of journey that I don’t quite get because the desert doesn’t help me much and unfortunately, when the plot and character development leads up to it sometimes it’s not all about the big battles, the battles, the new magical places and the non – stop casting of spells. So it makes reading a lot harder after what happens at the end of the second book because there’s a very interesting element that you almost have to live without in this book. There are no maps in this book, my curiosity really peaked as to how much more land is left to explore, new people, lost lands, what else is in the ocean but kraken. Life sailing or pirate. I also want to know more about the little bomb they left us with about a unicorn. Of coarser centaurs would also be nice. This series deals with creatures that usually go unnoticed in epic fantasy books, hopefully more will be seen.
