This tight finish is the pinnacle of his game.

He’s good with his hands, even better with his charming mouth, and best at making me forget my own name. His – ahem – stats are perfect.

But I can’t love him. He could be everything I wanted, all wrapped up in one great divine package, but there was one very small problem. The vile, disgusting team I’ve spent my life hating – my dear school’s arch-rival?

This guy is their star player.

I absolutely LOVE this story! I’m a huge fan of romantic sports and this NA football romance was a huge hit! I listened to this book as I read it, but I liked the narration so much that I often went back to the chapters I read so I could hear more.

This book is so playful and fun! I can totally relate to the horror Kayla experienced when she found out that a sexy stranger she was in love with attended and played for her school’s rival. Anyone who’s a die-hard fan can understand the conflict and confusion poor Kayla faces, especially how she came to this world (what a prologue!) LOL I think my preference for the story largely revolves around my own unwavering love for my alma mater (GO BRUINS!) and the deep disgust I have for our cross-city rivals. Listeners/readers who are not “enthusiastic” fans may not find Kayla’s reaction as endearing as I do.

There aren’t enough words in the world to explain or describe how much I love this story. Nikki Sloane did a great job with this one. I initially chose this book because of my love for football and sports. I wasn’t prepared for how much I would love these characters and this storyline. I have to know what happens next. The characters are witty, funny and powerful. I like that underneath their strength there is vulnerability.

Jay is the perfect match for Kayla’s crazy brand. He knows how to handle it, Kayla. He’s hot and swoon-worthy in every way. I love Kayla and her fire-breathing attitude.

This was a refreshing read that made me laugh out loud and cheer loudly for these two. Perfect story. Perfectly performed by Stephanie and Carson.
