Impossible but true, because Henry was one of the first to be diagnosed with Displacement Disorder. time: according to his genetic cycle the clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, dragged into moments of heavy emotion from his life, past and future. His disappearance is spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternating painful and exciting.
Clare and Henry’s story unfolds from both perspectives, describing the effects of time travel on their marriage and passionate love for each other. They try to live a normal life, pursuing familiar goals: stable jobs, good friends, children of their own. All of this is threatened by something they can’t prevent or control, making their story powerfully emotional and utterly unforgettable.

This book is an absolute MUST listen to anyone who loves a good love story with some logical flight of fantasy. The story is gripping, funny, poignant…and probable. I saw the movie trailer for this story and was thinking of seeing the movie, but when I saw it was available on Audible, I decided to listen to the book first. Now I don’t think I want to see the movie. I simply don’t believe it can be as good as Fred Berman and Phoebe Strole’s performance. Berman and Strole not only narrate the story, they also bring Henry and Claire to life and it is Henry and Claire who tell their own stories in their own voices. I can’t imagine a better way to tell this story than through these two voices, so carefully chosen and well-suited to their characters. I can’t imagine a better introduction to the audiobook.

Well, well, well, I’ve been an avid reader of the fantasy/sf genre since 1952 and I believe I’ve read the best stuff and nothing has been able to capture and hold my attention again as stories and books did in my early years. I am captivated by these wonderful people and their lives. I fell in love again at the same time I was contemplating my own death. What a wonderful surprise.Thank you Miss Audrey.
