The Two Lila Bennetts – Audiobook Online
The Two Lila Bennetts is a psychological thriller novel written by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke. The story revolves around Lila Bennett, a successful criminal defense attorney who finds herself caught in a life-altering situation. The book explores the concept of choices and consequences, as well as the idea of parallel lives.
The narrative begins with Lila Bennett being kidnapped by a mysterious man who calls himself “The Stranger.” He presents her with a choice that will determine her fate: she must decide between two doors. Behind one door lies freedom, while behind the other lies punishment for her past actions. The Stranger informs Lila that she will experience both outcomes, living two different lives simultaneously.
From this point on, the story splits into two parallel narratives, each following a different path that Lila’s life could have taken. In one timeline, Lila chooses the door that leads to freedom. She escapes from her captor and goes on the run, constantly looking over her shoulder and trying to stay one step ahead of those who are after her. As she navigates this dangerous new reality, Lila begins to question her own morality and the choices she has made in her life.
In the other timeline, Lila chooses the door that leads to punishment. She is arrested for her past crimes and faces trial for her actions. As a criminal defense attorney, Lila finds herself on the other side of the courtroom, fighting for her own freedom. This timeline delves into themes of guilt, redemption, and the consequences of one’s actions.
As the story progresses, both timelines converge and Lila starts to realize that there are connections between her two lives. She discovers that her choices in one timeline have repercussions in the other, leading to unexpected twists and turns. Lila must confront her past mistakes and make difficult decisions in order to find a way out of this surreal predicament.
The Two Lila Bennetts is a gripping and suspenseful novel that explores the complexities of human nature and the consequences of our choices. It delves into themes of morality, guilt, and the concept of parallel lives. Through its dual narrative structure, the book keeps readers on the edge of their seats, eager to uncover the truth behind Lila’s predicament.

The Two Lila Bennetts
- Narrated by: Karissa Vacker
Lila Bennett’s bad choices have finally caught up with her. And one of those decisions split her life in two. Literally.
In one life, she was held hostage by someone who appeared to be a stranger but knew too much. When she was trapped in a concrete cell, her kidnapper forced her to face what she did or was killed. In another life, she evades her captor but is hunted by someone who is sabotaging her happiness, revealing secrets one by one.
Lila’s illustrious career as a criminal defense attorney, her marriage and life is in jeopardy. She must make a list of the people she has wronged – both in and out of the courtroom – to determine who is going out to arrest her before it is too late. But even if she can pinpoint her attacker, will she survive? And if she does, what part of her life deserves to be saved, and which part has to die? Because one thing is for sure – the life Lila Bennett knew was over.
I mixed reading and listening to this book. The story is great and the narration is amazing! I love being able to listen in the Audible app and listen in the Kindle app where I left off.
The way the authors made both parts of the story converge and come to a similar conclusion ended it nicely.
The story line is developed into two parallel stories that branch off at a time, i.e. the same story is told by two different paths. basically who did it leaves the reader guessing as the focus moves from one possibility to another and vice versa. The basic premise is silly but the story is well told. the performers are mostly excellent
this book is very well written with two stories that tell about the same woman and the choices she makes for ultimate redemption. This is not a love story but a quest to find yourself and correct your mistakes with all your might. I wish there was an ending so I knew what her life would be like after the incident.
My mind is completely blown right now! I love the story, the concept, the lessons learned and how much I love, relate to, understand and derive from Lila Bennett. The narrator is excellent and has a very soft but attention-grabbing voice. Absolutely must read!
