What is offered turns out to be an opportunity to accompany Captain Daniel Leary and Lady Adele Mundy as they begin a war that will put Roy in danger.

The quest takes Roy from a pirate leader’s harem to a world of monsters, from interstellar travel in a half-wrecked spaceship to assassinations in luxury homes. Roy has the choice to make friends or die without friends; encountering betrayal and responding to it; break his faith or keep it at the risk of his life.

Pirates, politics and espionage – and waiting for Roy if he survives all the rest, a powerful warship.

The action doesn’t slow down – neither does Roy, because if he does the only question is which of the many threats will be the one to capture and kill him. But it was Captain Leary who gave Roy a chance, and Roy was determined to make the most of it – Even though Hell would get in the way.
