(Free Online Audiobook) A Child Called ‘It’ By David Pelzer

A Child Called ‘It’ is a book on parenting. It is a book about relationships and personal development while being part of a family or a certain social group. It is written by David Pelzer who has done quite a few other books in the same capacity which helped parents quite a lot. Moreover, he has also written books on politics and social sciences. The Lost Boy is a good example of his work that the audience appreciated.

Brian Keeler got the chance to give the narration of this book. The performance was average as the tonal quality at times seems a bit dull and boring.

The disturbing tale of the early years of Dave Pelzer tells about a horrible child abuse case. Dave was a student of 1st grade when his alcoholic mother started attacking him. She used to make him starve and beat viciously.

She even went on to deny his identity and call him an ‘It’ only, rather than using his actual name. She took him to the brink of death and this was when the authorities get hold of the case. Dave, later on, managed to survive and gathered hope and faith for a better life ahead. He was fully determined to share his story with the world to let them know what he has been through and what should be the way forward in such cases.

The book stood as the best-selling one in the New York Times for more than 175 weeks. It was also a nomination for the Pulitzer Prize

As the book has a real story of a child so it manages to get your attention quite quickly. The majority of the audience had high expectations with the book with all the reviews, and they were not disappointed at all.
