Now there was only one way for Nemesis to protect Sidonia. She has to be her. Nemesis arrives in court disguised as Sidonia – a killing machine disguised as a world of corrupt politicians and the children of two-faced senators. It was a venomous nest with threats from all sides, but Nemesis had to keep her true abilities a secret or risk everything.

As the empire began to crack and the uprising drew nearer, Nemesis knew there was more to her than deadly power. She found a more honest person than she meets from most humans. Amidst all the dangers, actions, and intrigues, her humanity could be what saves her life – and the empire.

I love this for a number of reasons. The plot kept me guessing until the end. There are some details that are not related to the main character. Science fiction is original. It grabbed me from the start.

I often get tired of recipe stories. This story makes me think that maybe it has to do with trying to break the mold and more than trying to master it. You know what’s going to happen, you know how it’s going to end because it’s the old formula. However, the author has a way of keeping me interested anyway. Maybe that’s when the poorly executed recipe makes it boring, because I certainly don’t get bored hearing this.
