Imagine that you live on a picturesque communal garden, an oasis in urban London, where your children run around freely, going in and out of other people’s homes.
You’ve known your neighbors for years and you trust them. tacit understanding. You think your child is safe. But are they really? One midsummer night, while a neighborhood party was going on, Pip pretended to discover her 13-year-old sister Grace lying unconscious and covered in blood in a hidden corner of the rose garden. fresh. What really happened to her? And who is responsible?
I really enjoyed this book and strongly agree that fans of Liane Moriarty will love it too. It’s a bit slow but not unnecessarily slow, with well-developed characters and interesting dynamics. I completely disagree with the reviews that say the ending feels rushed. I feel like it makes complete sense and is intended to be thought through and scrambled for something that is purely shocking value.
Lisa Jewell is a great storyteller. She describes the lives of ordinary people and the complexity of the relationships between them. Her stories are rich with characters and the locales where they live. The performance was so excellent.
