The Lost Love Letters Of Henri Fournier / A Novel – Audiobook Online
The Lost Love Letters of Henri Fournier is a novel that tells two intertwined stories. The first is the story of an elderly professor named Jean-Paul who lives in France and discovers a cache of love letters written by a young man named Henri Fournier during World War I. The second story is the one told in these letters, which detail Henri’s relationship with a young Englishwoman named Margaret. As Jean-Paul reads the letters, he becomes intrigued by Henri’s story and begins to research his life and the people mentioned in the letters. Meanwhile, the story of Henri and Margaret unfolds in the letters themselves, revealing a passionate, doomed love affair that is further complicated by the war and societal expectations of the time. Through Henri’s letters, we see his growth as a writer and his struggles as a soldier, as well as the depth of his love for Margaret. At the same time, we also see the impact of the war on the lives of everyone it touches, especially those separated from loved ones. In the present day, Jean – Paul’s research leads him to Margaret’s granddaughter, Ellie, and the two begin to uncover the secrets behind Henri’s letters and his relationship with Margaret. Together, they discover a deep connection to the past and the enduring power of love.

I loved every moment of this beautifully written story based on a true story. Spanning years and involving many of the same characters, secrets are revealed and questions solved as the book revolves around love and loss during the war between England and France.
The characters are believable and the plot is very satisfying.
Absolutely gorgeous. This haunting love story has been skillfully strung across generations of characters, all of whom I long to call friends, sipping wine by the fire. Brackenbury’s writhing was like watching an Olympic gymnast spin, somersault in the air, and land perfectly.
