However, their relationship is complicated by Jake’s tumultuous past, as well as Tru’s own personal demons. As they navigate their relationship, Jake’s rockstar lifestyle causes strain on their bond. He struggles with his own issues with addiction and being in the limelight, and is wary of letting Tru get too close. Meanwhile, Tru is dealing with unresolved trauma from her past and tries to break down her emotional walls to let Jake in. As the story progresses, their relationship is further tested as secrets from Jake’s past are revealed and Tru’s work begins to interfere with their lives. The novel also explores the themes of career vs. love, addiction, and family dynamics. In the end, Jake and Tru both must learn to confront and overcome their issues in order to build a healthier relationship. I love the work of Samantha Towle, all of her books that I have read so far are excellent. This is no exception. The characters are great, good character development, Lovely Heroine. Samantha’s writing really makes you laugh with some of the jokes between the characters. I know I woke my newborn while reading. I won’t give any plot hints, that’s the purpose of the book synopsis. All I can say is read it. You won’t be disappointed at all.

So I love this story. I think Jake and Trudy get along really well. At first, I didn’t know how to feel about the situation they were in, especially Trudy. But I realized it was because I wasn’t interested in the second character in the love triangle. Then I was like having the Queen. This is awesome and you must have read it because I’m reading the sequel and it’s going to be awesome too.
