The Minute I Saw You – Audiobook Online By: Paige Toon

In the spirit of Colleen Hoover, a heartbreaking tale of an impossible summer romance begs the question: how do you move forward if a part of you can’t stop looking back?

Their allure is immediate. Can their love be forever?

When Hannah and Sonny met, they were immediately attracted to each other. His confidence drew her close to him just as he couldn’t resist her warmth and her starry eyes. But their chance encounter was short – lived and the next time they met Sonny it seemed to be a different man. Something moved him and what he needed was a friend.

Hannah and Sonny form a bond that transcends the understanding of their friends and family. They have promised each other to keep things pure, even if their undeniable attraction makes it impossible. But what if they were meant to be together? Each of them has a secret that is holding them back. Can they tear down the walls between them? And if they did, would they still love what’s on the other side?

Ever since I first found Lucy, I’ve loved Paige’s books. And this is no exception. As the characters developed and revealed themselves, I fell in love with them and wanted to hug them tight. If you’ve enjoyed a book by Paige Toon before you’ll love this one, if you haven’t read one then start here, it’s a stand-alone book though the characters intersect with some acquaintances.

I hadn’t read a single Paige Toon book in years and quickly bought this one along with the others when I stumbled across it. Her writing engages you with humour, yet deals with real, emotional issues. You get a hint at the basics as you continue on Sonny and Hannah’s journey, but it’s more than you could imagine. I enjoyed watching relationships grow from friends to lovers, from acquaintances to best friends, as well as seeing the inner growth of the characters. I also like that it doesn’t shy away from therapy, honest communication. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a romantic comedy, the content also has depth that is delivered in a way that is not too heavy but still respects the “realistic” themes.
