The Next Accident By Lisa Gardner – Audiobook Online

The Next Accident is the third book in the FBI Profiler series written by Lisa Gardner. It follows the story of FBI profiler Pierce Quincy as he investigates a series of brutal murders that seem to be connected to his own family.

The novel begins with a prologue that introduces the readers to a young girl named Roxy, who witnesses her mother’s murder at the hands of an unknown assailant. Fast forward several years later, and Roxy is now a teenager living with her father, Pierce Quincy, and his new wife, Rainie Conner. Quincy is a retired FBI profiler, and Rainie is a former police officer turned private investigator.

The main plot of the story kicks off when a serial killer starts targeting young women in the area. The killer’s modus operandi involves abducting the victims, torturing them for an extended period, and then leaving their bodies in public places. As Quincy becomes involved in the investigation, he realizes that the killer seems to have a personal vendetta against him and his family.

Quincy’s daughter, Kimberly, who was introduced in the previous book of the series, also plays a significant role in this story. She is a rebellious teenager struggling with her own issues and becomes entangled in the dangerous game being played by the killer. As Quincy races against time to catch the murderer before more lives are lost, he must confront his own past and face the possibility that someone close to him may be involved.

Throughout the book, Gardner weaves together multiple storylines and perspectives, keeping readers on their toes as they try to unravel the mystery behind the killings. The narrative alternates between Quincy’s point of view, Kimberly’s perspective, and occasional glimpses into the mind of the killer.

As Quincy delves deeper into the investigation, he uncovers shocking secrets about his own family and realizes that there may be more than one person involved in these crimes. The tension builds as the killer’s actions become increasingly personal, targeting Quincy and his loved ones directly.

The Next Accident is a gripping thriller that explores themes of family, trust, and the lengths one would go to protect their loved ones. Lisa Gardner’s writing style is fast-paced and suspenseful, keeping readers engaged from start to finish. The book delves into the psychological aspects of profiling and showcases the author’s meticulous research into the field of criminal psychology.

Overall, The Next Accident is a thrilling addition to the FBI Profiler series, offering a complex and twisted plot that will keep readers guessing until the very end.

An intense manhunt ensues for a killer who hunts victims’ minds — right before he takes their lives — in this blockbuster novel by bestselling author Lisa. Gardner.

What do you do when a killer targets the people you love most? When he knows how to make them vulnerable? When he knows the same thing about you?

These are the questions that haunt FBI Agent Pierce Quincy. Police say his daughter’s death was an accident. Quincy will risk everything to find out the truth — and there’s only one person willing to help. Former cop Rainie Connor has been paired professionally – and personally – with the excellent FBI profiler. He helped her through the darkest days of her life.

Now it’s time for Rainie to repay the favor. But this killer is like no other these two hardened professionals have ever encountered. This twisted psychopath has an insatiable thirst for revenge… and insatiable fear. As the clock ticks for an intimate act of vengeance beyond words, the only way Rainie can unmask this killer is to step directly into his murderous path. She will become a murder waiting to happen. She will be… the next accident.

I thought I’d heard this but I kept listening to be sure. Turns out I had, it was a great book but if I had known, I wouldn’t have used the credit for it.

The book is very good although I have heard it before through Books on Tape. I think it’s hard to recommend it as a NEW book by Lisa Gardner when it was published in 2001. But still a good book.
