This is the story of a year in the life of a 12-year-old boy and his eccentric uncle. It reminds me of my youth growing up in the 80’s. There’s a lot of liberal parenting and the whole group gets into some mischief. The ending is excellent and I appreciate this.

At first glance, the story seems to be about a boy’s recollections of childhood antics with friends and an eccentric uncle intertwined with his present-day experiences, but the story is much more than that. . Details matter so listen up.

I picked up this book hoping it was a horror story, and what I got was a wonderful, whimsical ghost story, but with a slightly bittersweet and endearing ending. A story about the relationship of friendship and family…even the strange uncle. Great presentation. Sometimes I feel like the narrator is like John Malkovich and makes me enjoy the story even more!

Craig, or Nick Cutter, has always been my favorite person to read. This book surprised me, a heartfelt maturity, part tragedy, part horror. This is not a small army or paradise; a different taste but just as good. Corey Brill is the man.

Saturday Night Ghost Club is the perfect place for spooky season, but don’t forget to turn on the lights! This novel is haunting, yet a beautiful tale of mental illness & a group of lost children spending an unforgettable summer investigating local ghost stories and urban legends. Craig Davidson has a gift for descriptive language. Quick read but bursting with humour. Corey Brill’s narrative made this book for me. I will read it again shortly! Saturday Night Ghost Club does not disappoint. Absolutely loved it, read in a day!
