For two arch – enemies, anything can happen on the Hawaiian trip of a lifetime – including love – in this witty and ecstatic romance from the best – selling duo.
The New York Times, who “funny depicts modern dating” (Us Weekly) and author of Josh and Hazel’s No Dating and Roommate Guide.
Olive has always been unlucky: in her career, in love, in… well, everything. On the other hand, her identical twin, Amy, is probably the luckiest person in the world. Her cute encounter with her fiancé was something beyond a romantic comedy (joke), and she managed to cover the entire cost of her wedding, by winning a series of internet competitions (double prank). Worst of all, she forces Olive to spend the day with her arch nemesis, Ethan, who happens to be the best man.
Olive struggles to make it through 24 hours of wedding hell before she can return to her comfortable, less fortunate life. But when the entire wedding party suffers from food poisoning from eating bad shellfish, the only ones unaffected are Olive and Ethan. And now, there’s an all – expenses – paid honeymoon in Hawaii up for grabs.
Putting aside their mutual hatred for a free vacation, Olive and Ethan head to heaven, determined to avoid each other at all costs. But when Olive stumbles across her future boss, the petty white lie she told him suddenly runs the risk of becoming a whole lot bigger. Now she and Ethan must pretend to be in love, and her luck seems worse than ever. But the strange thing is that she doesn’t mind playing pretend. In fact, she feels a bit… lucky.
Featuring Christina Lauren (Entertainment Weekly)’s “uniquely moving and hilarious voice,” The Unhoneymooners is a fun and captivating romance that’s perfect for anyone who’s ever felt unlucky in love.
A well – written and perfect story. The story mainly revolves around Olive and the relationship that develops between her and Ethan. In getting to know Ethan, she also comes to understand herself as separate from her relationships with others and the importance of truth and honesty, communication, false assumptions, and smart timing. to risk forgiveness.
I very rarely read novels and rarely watch rom – coms. The combination of the two is a lovely, hopeful story that warms my heart. I love that the “soaking” part of the story at the end isn’t quite as heartbreaking and earth – shattering as many love story – based books I’ve read. The narration is very good. I was particularly interested in the narrator and she passed the test.
