(Full Audiobook) Winter in Paradise By Elin Hilderbrand
The “Paradise” series opens in St. John Island known for its romantic outlook and for a moment the description make us think that we have selected a romantic novel. However that is not the case because the starting scenes really take you to a different world that is full of suspense and thrill which does not look to be with an ending.
Elin Hilderbrand takes the reader on a trip that is associated to a family tragedy. Irene Steele the woman with everything in life gets the tragic news of her husband’s death and her world is broken into so tiny pieces that joining them together is an impossible task for the lady. As she gets hold of her feelings and the mental trauma she starts pondering on something else.
Irene starts thinking that what her husband was doing on St. John Island in the first place. The question can also solve the riddle of his sudden death as well. As she goes to the Island she realizes that there is more than one kind of troubles that her husband has left for her after his sudden death. Her husband had another family on the island of which he had never told her and he visited the island for the lady he loved. Doubts, suspicions and hate are really felt in the second half and Erin Bennett provides the corrosive voice to the scenes.
The book can be completely understood if read along with What Happens in Paradise because the second part provides the details that are missing in the first one. The family relations also remind us about books like Summer of ’69. Over all it is a good thriller that can be enjoyed if read separately without the second part. The ending is though no complete but still it does not make a fuss of details in your mind.
