The epic battle comes to this fourth chapter with its ever gripping imaginative world created by the master writer George R.R Martin who has created this fantasy with great effort no doubt.
Another good thing about the series is that the narrator is kept the same right from the beginning and one tends to develop an association with the voice of Roy Dotrice that appear to be picture perfect for the story now.
The novel starts with a new emerging peace in the land but that proves to be just the beginning of the end of our heroes who face terrible battles after this brief moment of peace. King Joffrey’s death helps the seven kingdoms to make a truce for the first time and live some moments of peace as Cersei rules the kingdom for this period of time. Robb Stark has left and the tribes that follow his command are not united anymore.
Still, the defeated ones try to gather power and plan to fight against the present king of the land to get back what they think belongs to them alone. The story of chivalry really leaves an impact on our minds as we see the fighters taking part in epic battles and sacrificing their leisure time as well in wars and in the end gaining not the throne but just the fame of a hero.
This part cannot be enjoyed by a person who has not read the previous trilogy as the story is well knit with the previous parts and one cannot understand the concept behind the wars and would also miss the details behind the deaths of several kings of the past. The three parts A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords are a must read along with this part because it is then you can enjoy the whole of the piece of art.
