Every moment is wonderful. This is a book I have recommended to many people. I’ve read a couple of ridiculously negative reviews. The story reflects the inequality between men and women, the rich and the poor subtly. While it does reflect the time in which the story was told, there are still a lot of inequities. I am a mountaineer and loved the depiction of the harshness of the parallel arctic Ed by its beauty. Well done.

An interesting story. I want to put more emphasis on the story in the Arctic. The women are all interesting and have their own strengths. My heart aches for Ann because I fear for her dogs. The author took the time to tell us about what happened to Caprice and the “terrible event” in Virginia’s history. I will continue to recommend this book.
