A Very Irregular Head is a book by author Rob Chapman.

Roger Keith “Syd” Barrett With his good looks and musical aptitude, he was a charismatic kid who quickly became a teen leader in 1960s England. Along with three schoolmates – Roger Waters , Richard Wright and Nick Mason – he founded what would become Pink Floyd. Starting out as a British cover band, they soon pioneered a new sound: British psychedelic rock. With early hits, trippy, penned by Barrett, Pink Floyd has won over the London fanatic.

His soft mental state – most believed he suffered from schizophrenia – was further lightened. The bright-eyed young man was quickly replaced by a sinister, deadly shadow of his own that formerly engaged in eccentric, reclusive, and sometimes violent behavior. Fired from the band, Barrett retreated to his mother’s home, where he remained until his death, rarely seen or heard.
