Janet Evanovich is the author of the mystery and crime novel – Three to Get Deadly. It is the third edition of the Stephanie Plum series which features a heroine by the same name. It won the Dilys Award in 1998. Janet is a critically acclaimed author whose books have debuted #1 on New York Times bestselling list. Check out the first book in the series One for the Money. Also, consider the equally amazing second part titled Two for the Dough.

The narration by C. J. Critt is better than the ones she delivered for the previous book of the series. She has somewhat curbed on her heavy breathing. Still, some of the characters haven’t been done justice. Nonetheless, it is adequate performance.

Stephanie is a Jersey Girl who ended up as a bounty hunter because she couldn’t pay her rent. In this book, there is Uncle Mo who she must go after. Mo was arrested after he was caught carrying a concealed weapon. Stephanie is not thrilled about this case but she agrees. Mo got ticketed by a fresh academy cop for carrying the weapon and he failed to appear in court. No one wants to help haul him in jail because they all believe that Mo would never do something like this.

Since no one is helping her, she decides to bring in her mentor Ranger. She also enlists the help of Lula, her sidekick, and Joe Morelli, a former cop and her former lover. Stephanie realizes that everyone loves Mo because of his profession, but no one knows anything about his private life.

This a funny book from start to finish. The characters are likable and the plot is interesting. Even the narrations add to the experience this time around.
