The story begins as Anna and Charles (and Marrack) travel from Chicago back to Charle’s home in Aspin Creek (the town of teleporters and teleporters that Marrack runs). Charles was still recovering from the injuries he received in Chicago when they got home, and they weren’t even settled yet when trouble set in. There are indications of a rogue werewolf in the nearby mountains and it is attacking humans.
