Death by Engagement is the 12th mystery novel in the Caribbean Murder series by Jaden Skye.
The book talks about Cindy and Matttheus excitedly traveling to Aruba in search of their destination wedding venue. But Cindy and Mattheus’s beautiful time together is suddenly interrupted when they learn that the young woman they’ve just met has plunged to her death at a nearby cliff.

She left a suicide note, but the girl’s devastated father still doesn’t believe she took her own life. He begs Cindy and Matttheus to investigate and see if the foul play is active. Though Mattheus refuses, Cindy is forced to give it a chance – a decision that puts Cindy and Matttheus’ relationship increasingly strained and brings out never-before-seen sides of each other.

Cindy explores the inner workings of a young girl’s life and family, with many shocking surprises also unfolding in her relationship with Matttheus. Not only did Cindy have to be strong and persistent in finding the cause of death, but she also had to go through many personal changes to deal with what was happening in her own life. An unexpected ending on all fronts upsets all expectations.
