Dragonwyck By: Anya Seton – Audiobook Online

Dragonwyck is a literary fiction book by author Anya Seton.
In the spring of 1844, the Wells family received a letter from a distant relative, wealthy landowner Nicholas Van Ryn. He invited one of their daughters for an extended visit at his Hudson Valley estate, Dragonwyck. Eighteen-year-old Miranda is bored with local suitors and normal farm life, at the chance to escape.

She was instantly mesmerized by her master and his mansion, mesmerized by Gothic towers, flower-filled gardens and lavish lifestyles – unaware of his dark, terrible secrets waiting.

Dragonwyck has all the elements of a stereotypical Gothic story – a beautiful, innocent young girl, a handsome, brooding aristocrat, a haunting ghostly presence involving some sort of evil within past, and a giant castle-like castle. Even the name of this mansion “Dragonwyck” adds to the pomp, hinting at the whereabouts of a dragon.
